About Me

What am I doing?

I am studying Master’s in Computer Science at Stanford University, specializing in Human-Computer Interaction and Artificial Intelligence.

What did I do?

Finished a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering at Stanford University. Last summer, worked at Jive Software as a Product Manager. Prior to Jive, I worked at Microsoft as a software engineer on Microsoft Word, and as a Program Manager at the XBox Live team. More at my LinkedIn.

Technical Knowledge

I have experience in  C, C++, Java, Ruby on Rails, relational/non-relational databases, Javascript, JQuery, AJAX, JSON, Objective-C, Matlab, Unix, HTML/CSS, MySQL, Raphael/D3 data visualization libraries and others.

I am currently focusing my education on learning more human-computer interaction, and some machine learning & natural language processing.

What do I do in my spare time?

  1. Windsurfing: I used to windsurf in Alaçatı, Turkey every summer for one month. Now I occasionally windsurf in the bay in Berkeley. I’m still not used to the cold water! Here is a picture of me windsurfing.
  2. Swimming: I swim at Stanford Master’s Swimming. My goal is to do every possible open water race in the world. My last open water race was the Alcatraz Sharkfest Swim, where I came in 16th in my category.
  3. DJing and music production: I love all kinds of music.
  4. Traveling. Last summer, I traveled to Copenhagen, and the cities (Oslo, Bergen, Stavenger) and the fyords of Norway with my family and friends. I also traveled to Zurich, Amsterdam, Strasbourg, Black Forest, and many German cities (Kiel, Speyer, Heidelberg, Rudesheim, Mainz, Coblenz, Cologne) with my grandmother! Last Spring break, I saw a lot of the French Riviera with my friend Orr.
  5. Building things.

What do I want to do?

I like to build things and solve problems. I am also passionate about entrepreneurship and product.
