If you want to, also, turn it into a TV, you can easily do that as well. I just purchased a $39 HDTV HomeWorx with Media USB capability that works amazing. Know that you will have to plug the output from the 3.5mm stereo sound output to another audio amp in order to hear sound from the TV. In my case, I have a second monitor which extends my Desktop which has its own built-in stereo speakers which I use to power the TV's audio and use a larger better-quality set of powered speakers to play the sound from my computer. Works out well that way.
Thus, I with an ATI Radeon 6700 card I power this monitor and a second VGA monitor with a VGA to HDMI converter cable (works perfectly with great clarity). Had to do it that way because people on the internet had said this video card doesn't support VGA out to this monitor at the same time as the DVI out... but it DOES allow DVI at the same time as HDMI, which seems to be correct. (I haven't tried coming directly into the VGA input... but it works this way just fine).
So, the two things that are lacking on this monitor (if you see what I had to add-on to it to get it to do those things) are a HDTV Tuner and built-in speakers.
The monitor? I just love the almost doubled area relative to my old two-17-inch extended LCD monitor system from years ago.
Now that I have TWO monitors (extending my desktop to an equivalent 36 inch width x 13 1/3" high) is just remarkable. Now I can do Painter X3 or Photoshop CS6 on this monitor while viewing the instruction book on the smaller monitor.
Christine always has problems with monitors. She sees whatever flicker is there as she gets migraines. Even on the old LCD monitor she says she had to shut it off the other day because it "was flickering". This one? Rock solid to her. Not the slightest trace of flicker.
I can't even imagine something I could complain about with this monitor's image quality. It is easy on the eyes. When I look over at the LCD monitor, the color balance over the whole screen varies. It feels far less crisp than this monitor (which is absolutely perfect in its crispness). The uniformity of each pixel throughout the whole area is perfect (just shows the difference between today's technology and the technology from 10 years ago).
A remarkable miracle is what I would call this monitor (and I have never said such a thing about any other product I've ever reviewed. I am a stickler who almost always can come up with some complaint (most things aren't perfect).
I suppose I would say the connectors on the bottom are hard to get to. It would have been nice if they had placed the audio-out jack on the left along with the USB 3.0 connectors (which I have had no problem with at all under Windows 7 and my computer).
One thing nobody ever mentions is a tiny ability to even have horizontal tilting. My computer table has been used for over 15 years, so it sags in the center. That means that most all other monitors have had to be propped-up on the right-hand-side in order for the monitor to look straight. With this monitor, I found that I had a slight ability to tilt the monitor in a counter-clockwise direction (enough so the monitor now looks straight even though I put nothing underneath the right-hand side of the monitor.
My bed is right next to the monitor, so I also like how I can pivot the monitor to the left so I can watch movies in bed.
In conclusion... here are my comments on the monitor:
GOOD:
1. Impeccable-quality image-crispness
2. Perfect color balance without any need to fiddle to get it right as I've always had to do in the past.
3. No backlight glow in any corner.
4. No blown pixels.
5. Overall rating of 6 stars if it could be given such a thing.
BAD:
1. No TV Tuner (no Computer Monitor has that anyways)
2. No built-in speakers... but you can output the HDMI sound through the audio output so you can add
a second amp to hear HDTV if you're using that input for that reason).
Incredible monitor.
LOVE TO SEE IN FUTURE VERSIONS:
1. This exact same monitor in a 32-inch
2. A dedicated USB input that would allow an external MicroSD or USB Flash Drive which supports MP3 music, MPG movies and Photos (purchasing the external HDTV HomeWorx box gives that capability to the monitor... but with lessened quality than there would have been if that feature had been built-in).
3. Built-in speakers instead of the ability to snap on that external Dell speaker thing.
1: Long latency and input lag not noticeable - I am an FPS gamer and even though I do not compete seriously, I probably put in 40 hours a week playing games like BF4 and COD and other Free-To-Play games on Steam requiring quick response times. This monitor has a total latency of about 22 ms, which correlates to about a frame and a half delay from hitting a key/moving a mouse before the image on the screen follows accordingly to those inputs. To me, this isn't even noticeable, especially at higher framerates (obviously at lower frame-rates the input lag will become MUCH more noticeable). It has not affected my performance in games and I actually feel the monitor is more or equally as responsive as my TN panel which utilizes an eDP connection in my ASUS laptop. Thus, input lag (FOR ME) has not been an issue in casual gaming even in FPS games.
Games like Skyrim and Far Cry 3 look stunning at this resolution with the color reproduction.
2: This monitor is overclockable to 90 Hz. - This may appeal to a few of you out there who find that 60 hz is not smooth enough for desktop work and even more so in games. This is not like one of the Korean panels which can overclock to 120 hz plus, but it attains a modest 90 hz which is a 50% increase already- and whats more is there is not loss of color and the monitor is more responsive. I was actually surprised my ASUS laptop could overclock this display, which was done so through the nVidia control panel.
3: IPS glow is there, but it is not unbearable. It is only really noticeable when looking diagonally at the monitor from any direction, but head on and even at the side it doesn't not affect anything much except for dark screens. I typically play without ambient light because I like darkness in my gaming environments, but even then it is not noticeable.
4: Screen real estate is a huge plus. This is my first monitor I have bought for desktop use ever and it is a huge improvement over the 1080p screens on my laptops that I have owned. I can have 3 windows open side by side; Steam, Chrome, and word or excel are all easily discernible without the need to minimize or enlarge test as needed.
5: Excellent brightness and contrast: I have watched movies and TV shows on this display already and there appears to not be any issues with contrast and lightning in dark screens unless viewing from angles which make IPS glow evident.
6: This monitor is a bargain for all of the features - multiple inputs, USB up and downstream, headphone jack.
For anyone else who is curious, I considered this monitor alongside the ASUS PB278Q and the Viewsonic VP 2770 LED displays and I must say I am very happy with this purchase as out of everything I wanted this monitor nailed everything right on the head.
It seems ordering from the Amazon Prime LLC will give you the latest revision and manufactures of this panel, so I suggest ordering from there even if the cost is $20 more; you may not have to return your panel as others in the reviews below have had severe frustration with. All around, I give this monitor a 5 star review, even though I mainly use it for web browsing and gaming, but also some Adobe Illustrator work and Photoshop; I will edit this review as I experiment with these applications.

I got this one at the 550$ CAD price point here at Amazon and I was really pleased with it. This is the best you can found for the quality and price point. The first one I received had a dead pixel on it, but I got it replaced within 2-3 days with the exceptional Amazon Replacement services. They send another one directly and I had to return mine during the next month. So I at least, I never time without this new precious 27" display.
I didn’t really buy it for this but the built-in USB 3.0 hub is really nice. I finally find it really useful when using a laptop without many USB port as a MacBook Air. And the fast that is USB 3.0 is great! You could have a quick USB 3.0 External Hard Drive for your backup, a USB 3 to Gigabit Ethernet, and much more you can simply plug with a single cable. Also connecting a Macbook Air to an external display (except the Apple Thunderbolt) remove the accessibility to the Thunderbolt port. So this is really nice to
The adjustable, rotating stand is really nice too. I only wish It goes about 1 inch higher to have it clear a bit more my laptop screen I work with, directly on the desk.
Be sure to connect it with a DisplayPort cable to enjoy the full resolution. Also be sure to calibrate it.
Had to get miniDP to DP cable (which is only $12) to get the best resolution though, as HDMI doesn't allow for that.
