Outstanding Talent
I purchased this album when it was first released back in 68. I was blown away by the complexity and flow of the songs contained in this work. It was then, and remains to this day, one of my all-time favorite albums. I truly feel that this work represents the absolute best of Blood Sweat and Tears. I now have the CD and listen to it often. Powerful, very powerful!

john simons genius
The album reflects not only Al Koopers talent but the visual and dramatic sensibility and breadth of knowledge of American music of the producer John Simon, whose later work as a producer and song writer reveal his considerable influence on this important seminal rock album.

eye opening
I was introduced to this album in 1968 at its debut by a friend who was into jazz, I was into the Stones, Yardbirds Animale etc. This album set me straight about what music is and can be, I wore out the vinyl albums 3 times, and immediatly bought it on cd when it became available, it sits in my car 6 cd player and never comes out,as the other 5 slots are constantly being changed, I consider this album to be my favorite of all time.

BS&T First
The sound of this first album is different from all of the other BS&T albums in that Al Kooper was the driving influence. The quality of the CD is excellent and the innocence, clarity, honesty and even humor of the music weaves a sound that was too short lived but very long remembered. It brought back many fond memories, but more important, it still has the ability to be a treasured addition to my digital music library. library.
