TELEMUNDO Y MAS -- AN INDEX

Telemundo y más:  INDEX

Here is my attempt at a sort of roadmap -- a list of the names and dates of the novelas we have talked about and recapped in brief during the two years our page has been up and running.

Just to clarify:

The dates refer to the title of the posting, not to the specific date posted.

The list is organized from most recent to oldest posting. (Thank you, Jean, for that suggestion!)

Most, and sometimes all, of the recaps are in the comment section of each weekly posted page.

Please chime in with additions and corrections in the comments section below and I'll incorporate them into the body of the index.  Thanks!

      El Señor de los Cielos
This relatively high-budget narconovela started on April 15, 2013.

      Pasión prohibida
This novela started on January 22, 2013.  Comments began during the week of January 24, 2013.  AdrianaNoel is recapping daily.

      La patrona
Bill C. wrote detailed recaps of the early episodes starting in the week of January 10, 2013.  Various people have contributed minicaps since then.

Made in Cartagena
This one also started during the week of January 10, 2013.  It's not really Telemundo since it's being shown on UniMás (Telefutura), an affiliate of Univisión.  But Hombre likes it and hey, he owns the page.  See the week of April 1, 2013 for the final episode.  (There are daily recaps for the whole course of this brief but intense novela, mostly written by Hombre but with Jody spelling him on Thursdays.)

¿Quién eres tú?
See the week of January 14, 2013 for Vivi in DC's excellent wrap-up of week one and subsequent mostly daily mini-caps of this UniMás novela.  The show was pulled from its prime evening slot after a couple of weeks and no one is sure if or when or where is will be aired in the United States. (It continues in foreign markets.)

La mariposa
This one started on December 4, 2012 on the new station, MundoFox.  Lots of people (especially Shallowgal) love it but not all of us have access to the channel.  Look for occasional comments and wringing of hands beginning about here.

El secretario
Since October 2012Jody Kolmen has been recapping one episode per week, posting here and on the TelenovelaWorld forum.

El rostro de la venganza
Sporadic recaps and comments from the week of July 30, 2012 to late December, 2012.  Daily minicaps resumed in the week of January 14, 2013. As of January 28, this show expanded to hourly episodes (it had been sharing the 10pm/9c slot with Pablo Escobar). The final episode was on April 12, 2013.

Pablo Escobar: el patrón del mal
Hombre de misterio recapped this one solo, starting during the week of July 9, 2012.  Deb added lots of supplemental material and interesting links.  The final episode aired on January 24 and was recapped here.  A wrap-up and cast interview was hosted the following night, January 25, and is discussed here.

Rosa Diamante
There are a few minicaps beginning with the week of July 9, 2012.  You'll find occasional comments and minicaps thereafter throughout the run of the novela until its end on January 21, 2013.

Corazón valiente
This insanely long novela was recapped in its entirety by Jean and Novelera from the week of March 5, 2012 to its final episode, discussed during the Week of 1/10/13.

Relaciones peligrosas
From its gran estreno during the week of January 23, 2012 to its end during the week of  June 25, 2012.  I think this was another mostly solo performance by Hombre de Misterio with a bit of help from Bill C.

Una maid en Manhattan
Hombre was recapping this from its beginning in the week of November 28, 2011 through the week of January 30, 2012.  Occasional comments from various people until the show sort of faded away during July, 2012.

Flor salvaje
A favorite of Novelera's.  Recapped, with a little help from her friends, from the week of August 1, 2011 to the final episode during the week of March 5, 2012.

La casa de al lado
Comments and recaps by various people began during the week of May 30, 2011 and continued through to the finale during the week of January 23, 2012.

Mi corazón insiste
Regular minicaps by various people (mostly Hombre, Jean and Novelera) from the week of May 30, 2011 (when it replaced Aurora) until the week of November 28, 2011.

La reina del sur
Conversation began during the week of Jan. 17, 2011.  There were discussions and recaps from the week of February 28, 2011 until the end of the novela during the week of May 30, 2011.  Several people contributed to the effort.

Los herederos del Monte
Recaps and comments all the way through this one from the week of January 10, 2011 to its conclusion in the week of July 18, 2011.

El Fantasma de Elena
This one was nearing its end when the page started.  You'll find recaps by Jean and others from 11/9/10 up to its final episode during the Week of January 10, 2011.

Los exitosos Góme$
Check out Jean's discussion in the week of 11/9/10.  This show was in progress when our page started and was shown during the day.

Alguien te mira
Recaps and comments began on 11/9/10.  We continued to the end of the novela during the week of February 28.  The show was in progress when we started writing about it.  It was one of the best-received novelas in this community and several people contributed recaps during the show's run.

Nuevo rico, nuevo pobre
Very occasional recaps and comments from late November 2010 to early 2011.

Aurora
Recaps from 11/4/10 until 1/3/11.  From then on, only occasional comments and recaps were posted until the last month of the novela from about the week of April 18 until the gran final during the week of May 23, 2011.  These final episodes were recapped by Urban Anthropologist.

Please don't post your recaps here, guys. I'll be putting up the weekly page in a few hours.

Let me know when you find mistakes so I can fix them (or at least try to fix them.)

Enjoy!

EL MUNDO

NovelaMaven, thanks so very much for doing this! I enjoyed reading our little corner of Caray Caray's history.

I'm glad you like it, Novelera. I had the idea of doing it afterI saw the outpouring of appreciation for your and Jean's work on Corazón Valiente. I hated the idea that those wonderful recaps would just be swallowed up in the sea of words because our page had no index.

It's far from perfect, I know, but at least it gives people a place to begin if they're looking for a particular novela.

Are enough people watching Quien Eres Tu on telefutura to justify a weekly recap? Just a thought.

Kelly

Kelly, I'm going to move your comment over to the January 14th page that I just posted.

I would love to have El Rostro de la Venganza recaps again since I don't speak Spanish and reallly enjoy the program, especially David Chocarro and Saul Lozano. Aren't many people watching it?

NovelaMaven, ¡Muchísimas gracias! "La Reina del Sur" was far and away the best telenovela I've ever seen (indeed, it was one of the best shows I've ever seen on television, period, in Spanish or in English). I'm delighted to have our conversations made so easy to find. I also am happy to have the discussions from other TNs--this may give me some ideas for others that I should watch for in re-runs, DVDs, etc.

I continue to wish that CarayCaray would offer daily recaps of Telemundo TNs--the ones I've seen are considerably more interesting than most on Univision. But in the absence of daily recaps, I'm all the more grateful for "El Mundo de Telemundo."

Thank you NovelaMaven for the listing. Wow! You guys have been busy. Standing O to everyone.

Kelly, as far as recaps of Quien Eres Tu? are concerned, if there is enough interest, I can do a recap of one episode per week (like I'm doing for El Secretario), but I'll post those only in the TelenovelaWorld forum. I did notice that Univision/UniMas is posting their own brief recaps in spanish on the UniMas official page for the telenovela.

Jody and Kelly- See what I have written about QET on the weekly Telemundo post.

Juanita, I'm so glad you're finding the index useful. It's so nice to hear from you.

If we had five people willing to recap a particular novela and a handful of regular commenters, we could ask Melinama for a separate page. But as long as our pool of writers and commenters remains small, we'll probably stay as we are.

Still, if you look closely at the list, you'll see that novelas like Corazón valiente and Pablo Escobar have indeed been recapped on a daily basis by Jean and Novelera in the first case and by Hombre de misterio in the second.

Kelly, Jody and Vivi,
I just added ¿Quién eres tú? to the index.

Anon 12:22

I just posted an update on EL ROSTRO on the Jan 14 page of the blog.

Telemundo does provide English captions for this show but I imagine you don't have access to them. (Neither did I until recently when I finally got a newer TV.)

Vivi -- yes, I did read your posts in the other theme. again, thank you.

thank you novelamaven for adding QET to the index. if you are thinking of retitling this little area on caraycaray, here's my suggestion "El Mundo de Telemundo y Mas".

Jody,

It's funny - I was thinking of almost the same title or maybe a shorter version: TELEMUNDO Y MAS.

But right now we're just in 'beta phase'. First, Jean hasn't weighed in yet. Second, we don't know if including MAS is too ambitious, especially since the Telemundo line-up is poised to change with new shows about to begin. We'll have to wait and see.

In the past we have just been a handful of not very chatty people writing rather pithy mini-recaps. If more people start commenting and the recaps continue to be on the longer side, it might make sense for the UniMás folks to start a separate page.

Really, that would be a nice problem to have. :)

Muchas gracias and a replica Antonio Negrete belt buckle for putting this together, NM. I did come across a link error, though: the end-thread link for Relaciones peligrosas directs to the 3/5/12 thread, rather than the 6/25/12 thread.

Fixed, I think, Bill C. Thanks.

Thanks so much NovelaMaven. Wow, we've really done a lot of stuff.

I think we should ask the blog mom to put a link to this list in the sidebar, especially if it were organized from the most recent to the oldest. Then folks would have an easy way to see what we are covering (and how they could help).

I have no objection to the new title "Telemundo y mas." Maybe "Anything but Univision" would be more accurate but not as PC. ;-)

Hi Jean,

I think organizing the list from newest to oldest is a great idea. Thanks! I tried to do just that. Let's hope I didn't make any goofs in the process.

I'd like to hold off on changing the name of the page and asking Melinama to give us a link in the sidebar -- which, BTW, is a great idea -- until we see how well everyone fits once the replacements for Rosa Diamante (Pasión prohibida) and Pablo (who knows?) are up and running. Is that ok with you?

NovelaMaven I found it interesting that dMart brought up the Columbine and Batman shooter.

CACHITO DE CIELO

Where is the Cachito department?

Why is it so hard to discuss or comment on Telemundo telenovelas here?

This is a little off topic but, I have to ask is anyone watching La Mujer Del Vendaval? I don't see it regularly, I am enjoying Jose Ron and Ariande (sp?) performances. It is a bit over the top for me though. I have to say the character of Nisa is the worst one I have seen a long time. The voice she uses to play the spoiled princess, grates on my nerves a bit. I am not sure how old the character is supposed to be but she is absolutely juvenile. Just wanted to know if anyone else is tuning in and what anyone thinks about it. Since it airs in the afternoons, there does not seem to be much interest.
