A coffee shop AU with a twist.
Sherlock Series 4 came to television on Jan 1st 2017. This is set a few months after that, as a continuation. It’s an AU which stands for Alternate Universe; the change to the narrative is that Mary does not have a child and John is moving on with his life after her death. Moriarty is dead and no more. This is intended to be a happy ending after the tragedy of Series 4, and hopefully the books too (Thank you to the late Arthur Conan Doyle). I wish to do both these works justice - not to devalue what happened, but simply to re-contextualise.
It is important to note that Sherlock Holmes, in this particular work, is neurodivergent.
This is NOT a johnlock/mystrade fic.

An open book. Too legible, too vast and containing, always presenting with more pages when you think you’ve read it all. Far more interesting if you look closely, behind its stereotypical facade depicted on most postcards. Looking unassuming to the untrained eye yet there’s layers and layers to discover, in every crevice, in every hollow, in each dark alley, in every abandoned house with its mould and its rotting wallpapers. That’s what London is.
